That was then, this is now

Just before I embarked on this journey I had to go in for an operation so I knew exactly what I weighed. I was 116 kilograms which is over 18 stone.  I was wearing size 18/20/22 clothes and the only exercise I did was ride my ELECTRIC bike to work when the sun shone. I had no idea what a resting heart rate was but I expect mine was through the roof.

Today I weigh more than I would like but it is a lot less than it was then at 84.4 kilograms which is just over 13 stone.  I am size 12/14 and very occasionally 16. I’m medium rather then extra large. My resting heart rate ranges between 53 and 56, I exercise 6 days out of 7 which involves lots of walking (FAST), cycling – I swapped my electric bike for one where I have to do ALL the work.  I signed up to a local, cheap gym and swam.  Hundreds and hundreds of lengths. I started Body Balance and yoga. I walked, everywhere. With Di for miles putting the world to rights and dreaming of her overcoming her cancer, sadly she never did. Today the gym is my 2nd home so I splashed out and joined David Lloyd which I love.

My goal is simple.  70 kilograms. Dress size 10/12 alongside retaining my very low resting heart rate.

For a low calorie, high flavour dinner try combining all those lovely veggies like courgette, aubergine, spinach, cauliflower and peppers with some lightly fried onions, a tin of tomatoes and curry powder. YUM!
