Positive state of Mind

Sunday, March 5th, Silence….The rain has gone. The sun is shining on the tops of the bamboo as it sways in the wind and I am sitting in the lounge watching it through the window. Once again taking in my good fortune as I sit in the warmth, Kitty alongside me, in the beautiful silence of this Sunday morning. Gym kit still on from my body balance class, chocolate melting ready for Jess’s birthday cupcakes writing this and wondering what today’s topic will be.

Positive state of Mind, me thinks. I am a naturally upbeatĀ person and always err on the side of being positive and am incredibly grateful for the love, laughter and happiness that surrounds my life, however, I know that sometimes I allow events to rob me of this attitude, what then? I discovered a challenge some years ago “100 days happy” where each day you post what has given you reason to be happy, the very fact you have to do this means you focus on the good things that have happened in a day. Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it’s just hard. Today is day 19 of my 2nd time around and I’m using Instagram this time.

I also follow posts like these below from an instagram member called “Positive Energy_plus“. A lot of time they resonate with me and help re-align my beliefs.

Exercise and engaging in restful activities like knitting and catching up with my favourite television programmes also allow me time to stop, reflect and reframe. I love walking with friends along the river where I live or at Whittenham Clumps to practice hill walking.

There there a few basic principles I try and adopt no matter what my mood is and they are:

  • If you cannot say something kind then don’t say it at all
  • This moment in time is all you truly have, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come so make THIS MOMENT amazing.
  • Make a choice to assume a positive intent when someone does something you don’t understand
  • Be the best person you can be

and that, as they say, is that. Happy Sunday people. Go forth and live this amazing life you have been given and be WONDERFUL.
