Recognising progress

I find it incredibly important to remind myself how far I’ve come and have a number of tools that help me achieve this. Facebook is fantastic at popping up memories and I’m often shocked at just how much I have changed. This morning it put up a memory that included the photo in the top left had corner, that was taken early in 2014. In March 2015 I’d already made huge progress and was feeling amazing out celebrating Jessica’s birthday in my new frock.

At this point I had only just started to introduce exercise and this is when Jessica decided to join me. I loved exercising with her and we spurred each other on as we increased the number of lengths we swam and got quicker and quicker. As both of us started to get fitter the weight started to drop off and we got more and more motivated.

These days I record so much more and have started to collect particular information on a daily basis. My resting heart rate helps me track my fitness levels, my weight helps me keep on top of my eating habits, the speed at which I walk also helps with my fitness and I also like to record how many days I have been following a revised eating plan or exercise regime. That helps me establish good habits.

As I’ve mentioned before I have a number of tools that help me. My Fitbit, MapMyWalk, MyFitnessPal, I continue to take photos of myself and for keeping records I use Facebook, instagram and take my own notes.

For a low calorie, high flavour dinner try combining all those lovely veggies like courgette, aubergine, spinach, cauliflower and peppers with some lightly fried onions, a tin of tomatoes and curry powder. YUM!
