Murmuration, an enticement to walk

In an earlier post I advocated that exercise should be fun. My primary exercise is very gentle on my body as I love to walk, I make it part of my daily routine and enjoy walking alone or with friends. If a journey is not to far then I’ll forgo the car and use my legs to get me there. It is the exercise I fall back on if I am tired and just not in the mood for doing much.

I’ll often just ask friends to include me if they are thinking of doing a spot of walking. About a month ago my beautiful friends, Bernie and Linden, were heading out and roped me in saying “We are off to Noke”. This is a tiny village just outside the Oxford ring road where the RSPB have a reserve called Otmoor.  Parking up we donned our walking boots and started down this public pathway and then onto a very muddy track, it gets wet here in the UK. I saw a flock of birds and started talking about the murmurations I’d witnessed in a Rome without knowing that was the reason we were here. What transpired was totally fascinating and difficult to catch on camera but here is a collection of photographs I took of what we experienced.

For a low calorie, high flavour dinner try combining all those lovely veggies like courgette, aubergine, spinach, cauliflower and peppers with some lightly fried onions, a tin of tomatoes and curry powder. YUM!
