Whitchurch on Thames to Caversham, Reading

Linden and I restart our challenge to walk the Thames Path

Saturday May 26th, Linden and I drive to Pangbourne Station where we park my car and walk to the start of our walk just across the river in Whitchurch.  Despite the rain the path was dry and so we were both grateful for choosing to walk in our Vivobarefoot shoes. It was a cool and misty morning which was perfect in which to walk. Despite the fact we were heading into suburbia when we were on the path there was little evidence of this. Having said that there was a mile where you venture away from the path and through Purley.

Once you cross back over the railway you drop straight down onto the river path which soon takes you back into the  stillness of the river.  Here we saw our first cygnets of the season as well as got to meet some Egyptian geese, some of whom had little families. Once we got past Caversham bridge it was a short walk up Lynmouth Road to Reading Station where we even climbed the stairs up instead of taking the escalator! Here we caught the train back to Pangbourne, picked up the car and drove home.  All incredibly easy.

For a low calorie, high flavour dinner try combining all those lovely veggies like courgette, aubergine, spinach, cauliflower and peppers with some lightly fried onions, a tin of tomatoes and curry powder. YUM!
