A new chapter

It’s been a while since I contributed to this blog and that is largely because around August 2017 two things happened. Firstly my big babies and I went to the worlds foodie heaven, San Francisco and secondly I got offered a job. So why is this significant you ask yourself.
Well despite walking, cycling, riding and climbing every staircase we came upon in San Francisco I also indulged my love of food so by the time I got home I’d somehow gained weight. Queue the seriously stressful new job and little time for exercise and the combination has resulted in an extra stone and I’ve gone from size 12 to 14.
Over the last year I have tried to shift the weight and build in exercise to my routine and although I’ve not lost any of the added pounds I have managed to stop the rot. Now I am not working again and have some more time I have no excuse.
I have also decided to start a new career. With my passion for living a healthy lifestyle. my love of great food and my appreciation of how challenging it can be I have decided to become a Nutritional Coach. So in celebration of this not only am I going to start an education but I’m going to re-educate myself by taking a closer look at my food intake and energy output.
Over the next 6 weeks, starting today I shall share my journey on here. I already live a refined sugar free life, so I have two challenges:
- Reduce my fructose to the equivalent of no more than 6 teaspoons a day.
- Reduce my resting heart rate from 64 to below 60.
I’ll also track my weight and measurements and at the end of the 6 weeks share the results.
